The Feminist: Adolescent Mindset and Real Women

People who want rights without responsibilities are like adolescents who want the rights to the car without the responsibilities for the payments, the gas, the insurance, or the repairs. A person who talks more about women's rights than responsibilities is not an adult feminist, but an adolescent feminist.
-Warren Farrell

Unfortunately in my entire life, I cannot remember ever once meeting a feminist who spoke about "women's responsibilities." They all seemed, like Farrell said, to be adolescents, whining and crying about the rights and privileges that men have which they don't, but never once mentioning the obligations and responsibilities that it takes to earn those rights.

For instance, child-care. "My body, my choice." A feminist who chooses not to marry but have a child anyway expects the government or public to assist her. Just like an adolescent who wants to drive the family car but expects mom and day to pay for it all, feminists want the right to drive the car of motherhood, but instead of marrying a man, they marry the government and expect the public to pay for it all. Food for thought: If you cannot afford to take care of a child, you shouldn't have a child. Isn't that why we don't let minors of child-bearing age marry and have children without parental consent? It would seem that feminists, though adult in their years, are acting like nothing more than 14 year olds when they want to have a child but expect other people to pay for that child.

In my next post, to which this is just an introductory food for thought, I'll discuss a man's responsibility and obligation to register for the Selective Services and serve his country during a national emergency, and women's right and privilege to choose whether or not to join the army at all.

  1. You have nailed it to the wall in this post!

The most DAMNING indictment of feminism — in fact, the one that will finally send feminism to the gallows — is the complete failure of feminist writers and pundits to demand ethical behavior from women in their dealings with men. They are a profound well of roaring silence upon this subject!

And this is NOT a truth that will set them free; it is a truth that will KILL them!

Anyway, it is good to see another MRA blog springing to life. I thank you for linking to the Counter-Feminist, and I will shortly reciprocate! :)

  2. Responsibilities in general are a broad topic worthy of several inquiries. Military responsibilities for women comprise a narrower topic, but still worthwhile.

By the way, my blog links should be pointing to you as soon as you make a new post. I may add an extra link category specifically for counterfeminism.

  3. Thank you for your comments and the links. I have to thank Warren Farrell for his inspiration and illumination on many subjects. Although he is not an active MRA nor does he even consider himself one, he is nontheless a strong proponent of men's rights.

In the future I hope I can bring some new perspectives to the MRA, as well as strategies for dealing with feminism. I'll do my best.

  4. Wow, I feel so enlightened by your assumptions and lack of empirical evidence on this subject. I just can't wait for your strategies of dealing with feminism. (If only computers could convey sarcasm). You treat an ideology as though it were a medical illness.

I am disappointed to be reminded that there are still people that define their opinions on an entire group of people upon little experience or biased inquiry.
